Science Buddies

CJ and the Webmom

We’ve just added another fabulous
resource to our Resource section!

Today we’re excited to feature a super cool website called “Science Buddies – Free Science Fair Project Ideas, Answers and Tools for Serious Students“.

They even have a super easy to use Topic Selection Wizard to help you find something you’d totally love doing.

Even if you aren’t in Science Fair mode, it’s still an awesome place to go for some educational fun this summer!

Have fun and stay safe,

A Real Wall-E Robot!

CJ and the Webmom
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! Someone just made a REAL Wall-E robot!

Let’s be honest here, how many of us who saw the Wall-E movie wished we could have him around IRL? We’d bet most of us did.

Most of us probably wished we either knew how to make one or had enough money to buy one, right? Well, check this out:

All he’s missing is Eve! =)

DIY/MYO: Homemade Bird Feeder Project

CJ and the Webmom
Today’s Do-It-Yourself / Make-Your-Own Nature Kid Project is an easy, nutritious and definitely delicious Homemade Bird Feeder.

Well, at least it’s nutritious and delicious for the birds, right? =)

Anyway, this free project is courtesy of Betty Crocker and The Cheerios® Cookbook.

We actually plan to modify ours a little bit by:

  • Using chicken food (the birds are always stealing it anyway) instead of bird seed.
  • Not using Cheerios (we don’t eat them so we don’t buy them).
  • Replacing the pipe cleaner with a piece of low-stretch, braided rope we always have handy.

Show Us Your Work

We’d love to see your completed project! Send us a link to your Bird Feeder pictures or videos though our Contact page.

It's Lego City, Kitty Style!

CJ and the Webmom
Legos are starting to be used a lot more for educational projects. Even so, we’d never call NEVER call them boring!

They can be used for everything from modeling and art sculptures to moving machines and robots.

We’ve seen a lot of really cool Lego creations lately but this? Well, this would make ANY kitty proud.

This video is in Japanese but don’t worry! You don’t have to understand the language to understand the projects.

If you’ve made any Lego projects for your pets, we’d love to see them!

Goodbye, Blackie

CJ and the Webmom
Today is a sad day for our household. Blackie, one of our beloved furry family members, and the Webmom’s special buddy, has died.

Yes, he was old and yes, we knew it was coming but we didn’t know when or how.

We actually prayed it wouldn’t be for at least 4 more years. Sadly, sometimes life doesn’t work out the way we want it to.

Although we had to say goodbye for now, we know Blackie is now running through God’s garden, digging holes and baying at the rabbits up there.

CJ's Kids Club Spokespet - Blackie

Blackie with CJ and Scooby Doo.

Blackie, we hope you know that we will always love you. May you rest in peace now. Free of the aches and pains of old age. Free of any boundaries and fences. May you enjoy unending bowls of your favorite food and fresh water. May you have fun playing with the rabbits and smell-free skunks up there too. Amen.

Have fun and stay safe,

National Wildlife Federation Kids

Nature Gardens and Wild Animal Babies

The National Wildlife Federation has a totally awesome site for kids. You may know them for their super popular Ranger Rick magazine but they’ve got some cool stuff online too!

You can download coloring sheets, investigate wild animal babies and learn how to attract wildlife to your backyard.

Oh yeah, you can also get your garden certified. It’s much easier to do than you might think!

Have fun, stay safe, and God bless,
CJ and Penny
